The family of Flash Memory from ON Semiconductor includes several SPI bus flash memory devices with 2 Mb (256K x 8-bit), 4 Mb (512 K x 8-bit), 8M bit (1024K x 8-bit), and 16 Mb (2048K × 8-bit) configurations. They use a single power supply. The Flash Memory devices are housed in an 8-pin ultra-miniature package. The devices also have a small sector erase capability, making the devices ideal for storing parameters or data that have fewer rewrite cycles, and conventional EEPROMs cannot handle due to insufficient capacity. The ideal performance characteristics of these devices include high data transfer rate, fast erase and programming time, and high reliability. These devices are ideally suited to storing a program in applications such as SPI Bus flash Memory Devices, portable information devices, and HDDs.
