LM324シリーズは真差動入力対応で低コストのクワッド・オペアンプです。単電源アプリケーションでは、標準タイプのオペアンプよりも複数の点で優位にあります。最低3.0 V/最高32 Vの電源電圧で動作でき、静止電流は（アンプ・ベースで）MC1741関連のそれの約1/5です。コモン・モードの入力範囲には負電源が含まれるため、多くのアプリケーションで外部バイアシング・コンポーネントが必要なくなります。出力電圧範囲にも負電源電圧が含まれます。
