ソリューション

onsemi offers a range of tested solutions to design compact and efficient battery charger solutions from 65W to 600W and beyond. USB is used in battery chargers for power levels up to 240W making use of the extended power range and adjustable voltage supply options, in addition to the programmable power supply options available up to 100W. onsemi’s USB PD controllers combined with our medium voltage MOSFETs and load switches ensure good control of the output voltage and current requested by the device connected to the USB power supply.

From 240W up to 3kW, the combination of innovative totem-pole technology combined with multi-mode PFC control of EliteSiC MOSFETs/ GaN HEMTs enables a compact PFC stage with excellent efficiency from low to high load conditions.

Current mode high speed resonant LLC controllers and quasi-resonant controllers working with Elite SiC MOSFETs /GaN HEMTs enable compact conversion of the output of the PFC stage into the required output voltage, supported by the secondary side synchronous rectification controllers driving our best-in-class medium voltage MOSFETs. A third stage is sometimes used to provide a wider constant current voltage range.

Power Supply Solutions

In this paper, we will cover power supply basics and onsemi's solutions...

NCP1680 – CrM Totem-pole PFC IC Tips and Tricks

In this paper, we will go over basic Totem-pole PFC basic and power stage component selection criteria.

Totem-pole PFC Layout Considerations

This whitepaper will review layout challenges within a Totem-pole power factor converter (TPFC) and illustrate a way to overcome some of those challenges. Since TPFC is typically paired up with WBG devices such as GaN, this whitepaper will pay particular attention to its idiosyncrasies.

Meeting Challenging Efficiency Standards with Bridgeless Totem-pole Power Factor Correction

The input bridge rectifier found in almost all AC−DC power supplies contributes losses that present a challenge in achieving the highest possible efficiency figures. However, removing the traditional diode bridge, PFC FET and boost diode in favor of a bridgeless Totem-pole PFC arrangement enhances efficiency through the use of active switches.

3 kW Totem-pole PFC and Secondary-Side Regulated LLC Power Supply Using SiC MOSFETs

This paper will cover a solution using a SiC-based Totem-pole PFC followed by a secondary-side controlled LLC power supply, which is possible to achieve even higher power density and efficiency by using SiC MOSFETs in a Totem-pole PFC configuration.

Meeting Ultra-High-Density Design Challenges with GaN-Based 300 W Totem-pole PFC and LLC Power Supply

We will review an ultra-high-density 300 W power supply solution that replaces the input diode bridge using a Totem-pole PFC circuit. It uses an LLC converter with synchronous rectification and integrated driver GaN devices to enable 500 kHz switching on the LLC, dramatically reducing the inductor size.

SiC Simulator

We will explain the SiC simulation by leveraging the Physical and Scalable modeling technique, which take your simulation to the next level of accuracy.
